Career Development team at Â鶹AV helps students to secure employment with area companies
November 4, 2013 – Scarborough, Maine ()  Â鶹AV (Â鶹AV) with campuses in Scarborough and Bangor, Maine has seen a dramatic increase in job placement for recent graduates this fall.  Â鶹AV’s Career Development office has also been receiving a record number of calls from area employers seeking qualified well-trained candidates.
Since implementing the “Meet Our Graduates” newsletter to area businesses, Â鶹AV has experienced tremendous success placing HVAC/R graduates in heating and refrigeration technician positions throughout the state.  Hiring companies include: , , HVAC Services, , , Northeast Mechanical, , J. Hannah Mechanical, , and reVision Heat.
As a career training school, Â鶹AV teaches valuable hands-on skills that are in high demand throughout the medical industry.  This has helped Â鶹AV establish lasting relationships with clinical externship sites at some of the largest medical facilities in the state and laboratories such as NorDx.  This externship program provides students with real-world “on-the-job” training which can often lead to employment.  Recently, Â鶹AV has partnered to create additional externship site opportunities with and in Yarmouth.
In the month of October, hired 4 graduates from the Clinical Medical Assistant and Medical Office programs, while other graduates have acquired positions at , , and .
Â鶹AV’s Information Technology (IT) students are securing employment in many cases before they graduate, with current students launching IT careers at , , Metrocast, and contract work for through .
At Â鶹AV’s Bangor campus, more than 20 recent graduates found employment in October with regional employers.  An additional 12 students were accepted into the externship program at various healthcare organizations where Â鶹AV graduates continue to hone their career skills while gaining valuable real-world experience in the medical industry.
Â鶹AV is the largest and the only nationally accredited CDL truck driving school in Maine.  While commercial driving positions are on the rise, CDL recruiters prefer the additional hands-on training, special endorsements, and comprehensive training offered at Â鶹AV.   Â鶹AV has relationships with local hiring managers at , , , as well as national trucking recruiters at , , and .
