Career Development team at Âé¶¹AV helps students to secure employment with area companies
November 4, 2013 – Scarborough, Maine () Â Âé¶¹AV (Âé¶¹AV) with campuses in Scarborough and Bangor, Maine has seen a dramatic increase in job placement for recent graduates this fall. Â Âé¶¹AV’s Career Development office has also been receiving a record number of calls from area employers seeking qualified well-trained candidates.
Since implementing the “Meet Our Graduates” newsletter to area businesses, Âé¶¹AV has experienced tremendous success placing HVAC/R graduates in heating and refrigeration technician positions throughout the state. Â Hiring companies include: , , HVAC Services, , , Northeast Mechanical, , J. Hannah Mechanical, , and reVision Heat.
As a career training school, Âé¶¹AV teaches valuable hands-on skills that are in high demand throughout the medical industry. Â This has helped Âé¶¹AV establish lasting relationships with clinical externship sites at some of the largest medical facilities in the state and laboratories such as NorDx. Â This externship program provides students with real-world “on-the-job” training which can often lead to employment. Â Recently, Âé¶¹AV has partnered to create additional externship site opportunities with and in Yarmouth.
In the month of October, hired 4 graduates from the Clinical Medical Assistant and Medical Office programs, while other graduates have acquired positions at , , and .
Âé¶¹AV’s Information Technology (IT) students are securing employment in many cases before they graduate, with current students launching IT careers at , , Metrocast, and contract work for through .
At Âé¶¹AV’s Bangor campus, more than 20 recent graduates found employment in October with regional employers. Â An additional 12 students were accepted into the externship program at various healthcare organizations where Âé¶¹AV graduates continue to hone their career skills while gaining valuable real-world experience in the medical industry.
Âé¶¹AV is the largest and the only nationally accredited CDL truck driving school in Maine. Â While commercial driving positions are on the rise, CDL recruiters prefer the additional hands-on training, special endorsements, and comprehensive training offered at Âé¶¹AV.
